On December 5, PetroChina and the Hefei Municipal Government signed a cooperation framework agreement on gas supply. The two sides will join hands in the clean development of the city, building Hefei into a demonstration base of clean energy industry in East China or even the whole country within a decade.
According to the agreement, during the 12th and 13th Five Year Plan Periods, PetroChina will deliver a total of 4.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Hefei via channels including the West East Gas Pipeline. By then, a diversified gas supply pattern combining pipeline gas and LNG will bring the gasification rate in Hefei to 80%, with the proportion of natural gas in primary energy consumption increased from the current 1.5% to around 15%. This will play an important role in energy efficiency enhancement, emission reduction and air quality improvement in the city.
